thursday sunshine

Cam has always loved being outside. Even when he was just a few days old, a walk in the fresh air had a calming effect on him. We haven't been able to get out much this winter because it seriously just never seems to stop snowing around here... But today the sun was shining and it felt warm so I popped Cam in the Moby and we headed outside to look for signs of spring. It's so much fun to watch him take it all in. He gets quiet and relaxes the minute we step out. And Cam loves being in the Moby. He has a great view, tucked in and holding me close, just in case he sees something scary. As usual there were squirrels everywhere playing in the grass and in the trees. I would point them out and Cam would study them closely until they ran away out of his view. Then he'd turn back to look at me and give me this big pudgy grin. Gotta love that grin... This of course prompted mom to give squeezes and smooches followed by Cam giving squeals and hair pulls. On the way back into the house we stopped by my truck and took a look in the window. At first I pointed out the things inside the truck to him and then I took a step back. I watched the smile appear on his face as he realized he could see our reflection. He of course thought that it was the best thing ever. So we hung out on the driveway in the sun for a few minutes just snuggling and looking at our reflection together. It reminded that there are so many everyday things that my little guy is seeing or doing for the very first time. I love getting to be there with him as it happens. Being his mom is the best.
