Dinner Time
Cam was seriously into his food tonight. The contents of the bowl that had him so intrigued? Peas and diced zucchini...

Dinner Time
Cam loved his Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey and green beans were his favorites. And for dessert he munched on some pumpkin chocolate chip cookies-delish!

15 Months
15 things I love about my little guy in his 15th month
1. his swirly curly hair that he now attempts to style on his own with his little worm comb and his lady bug brush
2. his affinity for nutella and shoe laces
3. his baby swagger as he strolls across the room
4. the biggest, squeeziest, tightest neck hugs he gives me when I tell him I love him
5. the way he tries to give me kisses by grabbing my face, pulling it close to his and saying "mmmmmmmmmmaaaaaa" {like m-wah} repeatedly
6. the way he plays peek-a-boo with any object he can get his hands on. from a blanket to a book to a cheerio to his fingers. he loves a good game of peek-a-boo
7. his love of vacuuming. it is a serious passion. today he knocked his puffs over onto the floor and in a clear attempt to clean up the spill, ran his vacuum back and forth over them. what a quizzical look he gave me when they were still on the ground after several attempts.
8. the sneaky way he steals my pillow in the morning when I bring him in to bed with me to watch cartoons. we start out sharing and the next thing I know my head is falling off of the bed
9. his appreciation of a soft, fuzzy blanket. he loves to sleep nestling in a pile of them and roll himself into a cocoon when he wakes.
10. they way he points out every frog he can find on any page of every story we read together. frogs excite him.
11. his fascination with the ordinary. he makes things like velcro rollers, plastic cups and tea kettles hours of unexpected fun.
12. his love of books. we do lots and lots and lots of reading here each day. where ever and when ever the mood strikes him, we take a break from what we are doing to enjoy a good story together.
13. the way he scrunches up his face and pinches his nose {and then tries to pinch mine} when I say something is stinky
14. the way he loves to sit and snuggle on the couch with me while watching some Special Agent Oso or even the food network.
15. the way he gets all excited and says "yea-waff" when I ask him if he is ready for breakfast in the morning. he does still love his waffles-must have been all those eggos I craved during the pregnancy...
15 months is an age I wish I could freeze in time. He is the most fabulously fun little person in the entire universe right now!!!!! I love him so!

In Preparation for Thanksgiving
Cam has really been practicing his spoon skills this week. He gets super excited at meal time when he sees me approaching with a bowl and he immediately starts waving his hands wildly until he has a spoon in them. At which point he continues this wildness until I hold out the bowl for him to scoop away in. He mostly plays with his food as I spoon it into his mouth, just trying to get something to stay on the utensil. But today he actually got some banana and some butternut squash to stick long enough for him to get it into his mouth! I'm not sure who was more excited about it between the two of us!!

It's Official!
It was a big day here in Crazytown. Little man has finally decided it was time to WALK!!!!! No more one two stepping from one piece of furniture to another or holding my hand as he maneuvered from point A to point B. Oh no-Cam is strutting his stuff from one end of the room to the other and then back again!! And he is so impressed with himself-grinning from ear to ear as he toddles all around. The Hubs and I spent the night gushing over him, clapping and cheering as he made the rounds of the room. We couldn't be more proud...
ssssat? sssat? sssat?
Translates to- what's that, what's that, what's that?
This is Cam's most favorite question to ask. Couple it with his favorite hand gesture, the finger point, and you've got yourself the most popular game of the day. Well most popular right after vacuuming the floors that is...
Cam loves it when we walk around the house identifying everything in sight. So far he has really picked up on the word flower. He can identify them on our dining room table and call them by name. He loves to say flower or "fow" as he puts it.
I am still in awe of how quickly he picks up and masters new things. I feel like I went from a weekend with a child who was only able to use actions to communicate to starting out the week with a child who could ask me questions and acknowledge his understanding of my responses. AMAZING.

November Sunshine
We spent a beautiful afternoon together playing with the little man at the park. With the sun shining and the temperature up in the 60's it was hard to believe that Thanksgiving is only two weeks away!

conversation
Me "your son just figured out how to open the powder room door."
Hubs "that's awesome"
Me "how do we even go about baby proofing that???"
Me "and he learned how to crawl underneath the coffee table today, so he almost tore apart our entire bookshelf about ten minutes ago"
Hubs "oh boy"
Me "seriously?! now he is banging his head on the oven door and trying to rip out the safety lock. should I just go ahead and give him some matches next? I gotta go..."
we need to revamp our entire baby proofing plan asap.

Stepping Up an Average Monday Night
The iphone is just as exciting to Cam as it is to any other pint sized techno geek. It is in fact so exciting that it was used as a lure of sorts to encourage the little man to let go of the ottoman he was standing near and TAKE HIS FIRST FEW STEPS last night!!!!!
Of course he immediately dropped to the ground as soon as he had the iphone in hand. And only once today I was able to use the same lure to get him to take a step away from his beloved lion and head toward the couch.
However, progress has been made! And we have highest hopes for a walker in the very near future!
