We were playing in his room on a blanket I had spread out over the carpet. As he does with everything these days, Cam decided to grab a fistful of the blanket and shove it into his mouth. Now as he reached for his flashing, singing, talking ball he placed his hand on the carpet and not the blanket in order to get to it.

This led to two big discoveries. First he noticed the carpet. He was drawn to it and at once forgot about the ball and bent over to take a closer look. He proceeded to spend about the next 15 minutes in fascination. Good-bye flashing, singing, talking ball. Hello fuzzy, soft, green carpet!
At this point I'm on alert. Just waiting for the forward lurch and face plant which must becoming since he is no longer aware of anything but how he can grab bigger fistfuls of the fuzzy stuff. Well guess what? It never happened! Hence the second discovery. Cam realized that he could lean forward on those hands while staying upright and continuing his explorations without falling on his face and then screaming at me in frustration. This is what's known in the baby world as a tripod, the position baby can use to balance while sitting before he can do it totally unassisted. Yay-tripod!!! I put the camera down after a few more shots, as we were both enjoying the moment. And because of this I have to use two images to try and give you the whole picture as I saw it.It was something about the combination of his pudgy belly-
