18 Months

Dearest Cameron,

18 Things I Love Most About You Today

1.  The way you wrap your arms around my neck super tightly and hug me for dear life when I pick you up from your crib each morning.
2. The way you snuggle in bed with me in the early mornings watching Special Agent OSO while I slowly wake (I could do without the blows to the head with the remote though).
3.  The way you excitedly shout "Milk!" while patiently standing in front of the refrigerator as I get some ready for you.
4.  The way you "reorganize" my closet and sock drawer each morning while I make the bed.
5.  Your love of pigs. You can spot one from a mile away and you do a mean impression.
6.   The way you shake your head and tell me "no, no, no".
7.  Your dance moves.  Especially the new moves you learned this week that look like some form of an Irish Jig...
8.  The thrill you get each time I ask you to throw something in the trash and the "yay" and round of applause you give yourself when the mission is complete.
9.  Those random hugs you give me, you know the ones where you run up to me from behind and just wrap your arms around me and say "ahhhhhh".  Those are sweet.
10.  The snuggly way you curl up on the couch with me, smooshed into soft pillows and all tucked under blankets.
11.  Your crazy hair twirling, bottle drinking ways.
12.  The way pinch your nose and squint up your eyes when I say something is stinky.
13.  Those fabulously curly little locks of yours and the whole game of cat and mouse you play with me when I try to blow them dry after a bath.  I know you secretly love it little man, you're not fooling me...
14. Our mutual love of Ina.
15.  Your specific book reading ways.  As in those ways that involve reading the pages of certain books in a certain order and not necessarily the order that the author had intended.
16.  The way you chatter on your computer mouse as if it were a phone.  It started out with just a "Hello" and today I heard you carrying on a whole conversation!
17.  The way you put EVERYTHING to the sniff test.
18. The way you pick the lint from between your toes...

If I could spend all of my days writing the things I love about you little man, it wouldn't be enough!

I Love you Bestie & Mostie!
xoxo

Collecting Leaves

Afternoon Sunshine

Temps hit almost 70 here today and Cam loved it up running through the park today! He didn't have much interest in the swings or the slides though. Cam just wanted to run through the wide open grassy area all around and collect leaves. And he was very particular about which leaves were acceptable, thoroughly examing each one he picked up. A good specimen was carried until a better one was spotted and a not so good one-well that was meant with a firm "No!" and dropped like a hot potato...

Weekend Fun

We all had a blast this weekend with Uncle Jon and Aunt Ali! Cam showed off his best tricks and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the love and attention they gave him. He even shared one of his infamously fabulous (well around here at least they are) hugs with his Uncle today. It was so sweet to watch Cam run right up to him with his arms outstretched and just dive in for a squeeze!

We miss you guys already!! Thanks for spending a great weekend here with us in Crazytown!!!

Vocab Baby

Cam's vocabulary is growing in leaps and bounds. He tries out several new words everyday. Some he reuses and others I guess he files away because I don't seem to hear them again. Although he is still mostly shortening his new words to one syllable, he is always improving on his tried and true favorites.
Today he was loving numbers, in fact he fell asleep clutching a favorite counting book. We read it quite a few times before bed. He kept saying "Num" and taking a shot at saying each number as we flipped through the pages. This was definitely the most interested I have ever seen him in numbers. Except for the number seven, for whatever reason he wouldn't even take a shot at trying to say it. Weird.
Anyway, I'm getting off track, this post was meant to be a listing of all of the words he uses regularly because I thought it might be fun to make one.

Here goes-

what's that
Mama
Dad/DaDa
Nonna
Nana
milk
bottle
bow
ball
oink oink=pig (sounds like eenk eenk)
Muno, his favorite character from Yo Gabba Gabba
waffle
shoes (this is my favorite of all his words, I love the way he says shoes!)
socks
boots
bath
banana (nana)
blueberry (boom boom)
Ina, as in Ina Garten the Barefoot Contessa
Elmo
balloon
duck
frog
flower
newt
tree
leaf
bowl
belly
lint
hello
bye
meow=cat
wuf wuf=dog

I think I got everything. But I could have missed a few, he is quite the little chatterbox you know...

Yikes!

Bringing in the Mail

You See

This is what the proper equipment looks like Mama!

A Day Late

This pic is from yesterday but I had to post it.

Looks like he's doing a fine job coloring right? Well he would be if
that were a crayon in his hand and not a tube of lip balm. He was
begging me for a crayon (since he can't be trusted not to color the
walls or eat the crayons I hide them). And of course it was time to
get in the tub and instead of wanting to get squeaky clean he wanted
to color. And of course I had to say no, since the water was warm and
waiting. And of course this did not make him very happy. So in the
early stages of what could have gotten to be a scene, my ever so
intelligent and most resourceful boy spied what looked to him like a
crayon of sorts.

The look in his eyes accompanied by a huge grin read something like
"how do you them apples Mama!"

And as I sat back and watched him with that chapstick firmly gripped
in his hand, I smiled proudly at his quick wit and MacGyver like
ability to succeed in the face of adversity but almost cried thinking
"what kind of mama is so mean that she makes her poor child resort to using a
chapstick to color instead of just giving him a crayon..."
