Outside
And enjoying the ride. Cam had a blast today hanging out with Nonna and strolling around her backyard and the farm just behind it. He made fast friends with Fuzzball the cat who thinks it's a dog and watched a glider being pulled through the clouds by a small plane. Here he is all kicked back and snacking on a few puffs.

loved
We had a great time this past weekend hanging out with Nana and Grandpap. Cam was so excited to see them and used every opportunity to break out all of his best tricks to impress. He really relaxed and enjoyed the time with his grandparents.
It's such an amazing thing to sit back and watch your little one bond and begin to show their love and affections to other members of the family. Seeing Cam give his first kisses to his Nana was just about as adorable as it gets!
And as Cam learns to show his love to others I wonder if he realizes how much it surrounds him as well.
Clearly only those who love him dearly would do crazy things like-
walk him around the neighborhood in triple digit temperatures, just because he likes the outdoors
sit outside again in the sweltering heat and watch him splash around in his kiddie pool
sit on the floor cheering and clapping at his attempts to throw a ball or a block or get into position and crawl his little butt across the floor
He had four adults absolutely wrapped around his finger this weekend!
The little man is loved...

11

Dearest Cameron,
This weekend you turned 11 months old. My little baby becoming my little boy faster, and faster, and faster right before my very eyes...
This has been an action packed month for you. Crawling just days ago and my how you have gotten better and better at it by the minute! Getting to your knees and working to pull yourself up on to whatever you can manage or just hanging out there and bouncing up and down... You have turned simple diaper changes into wrestling matches, and not so simple ones into some serious feats of strength. You have learned about free will and how to exercise it, mostly to let me know about things that displease you... Although your giant smiles and laughter at things that do please you make up for it in spades. You learned to play peek a boo and you love it! You learned how to give Eskimo kisses and you love them too! You love to sit and read books on your own and turn the pages all by yourself. You discovered Handy Manny and fast became a fan. Each day brings the discovery of something new and exciting for you!
Along with all of that, your hugs got tighter, your tantrums got fiercer, your shrieking got louder, the curls on the back of your head got curlier and your kisses got sloppier.
And just when I thought it couldn't possibly happen, my heart got bigger because I love you even more today then I did one month ago!
Happy 11 Months Little Man!!
I love you more then mice love cheese (and boy do we know that's a whole awful lot)!!!!
xoxo

sitting here with the little man as he is watching sesame street, on comes Jason Mraz singing "i can't wait to go outdoors" to the tune of "i'm yours". cam is completely mesmerized and doing his best dance moves of course. love how the past and the present collide like this sometimes...
and sesame street rocks.

Winner
Cam dug into my diaper bag and pulled out this powerball ticket. See how excited he got when I told him it was a winner?
I'll leave out the picture from after I told him that it was worth a whopping $4.00...

cheeri-oh no
I couldn't inflict any more torture on him by taking his picture as he sat in his high chair, face bright red, tears streaming down, arms in the air, howling at me. All because I gave him a Cheerio. So you will just have to use your imagination...
I think maybe tomorrow we will try Rice Krispies.

Outdoor Dining
This past week has been an absolute battle to get Cam to eat anything besides his beloved puffs. He will accept a few spoonfuls of food at best before the puff protest begins.
We took the lunch game outdoors. And surprise, surprise- he enjoyed some quinoa and some squash!

Life in Reverse
Crawling. It's funny business. So many steps involved in the process and Cam has been mastering them one at a time. Just this week he has finally begun to string the pieces together and get rewarded with some real movement.

The little man is getting around for sure but in his typical suspicious fashion, he draws himself away from things instead of moving toward them. Yes, he is crawling but only backwards. And only covering small distances.
For the most part, he is enjoying this new found ability. But life in reverse does have some disadvantages.
Things like pesky walls-

and pesky sofas-

somehow seem to keep sneaking up on him...
We have high hopes that he will have another milestone under his belt in the near future. He looks ready don't you think?

growing
With each day that passes I watch as Cam is becoming more and more of his own little boy and less and less of my little baby... This transformation never stops amazing me.
Here are a few things that I'm loving about him today.
He wrinkles up his nose and does this little snort thing, I think when he's annoyed but sometimes just for no reason at all.
He smushes his mouth shut and refuses to eat what I'm trying to feed him and then pounds on his tray to demand puffs.
He gets up on his knees and grabs onto me to pull up for a hug.
He looks for these hugs randomly throughout the day and when he gets one, he just lays his head on my shoulder and squeezes me with all he's got.
He loves it when he waves at me and I wave back.
He laughs when I laugh.
He thinks sneezes are the funniest thing ever.
He throws tantrums...
He cries when I feed him banana puffs instead of sweet potato puffs because he DOES NOT LIKE THEM.
He gets excited when we sit down to read books together and even when he feels like playing with toys in the middle of the story he will turn his head back at me every few minutes to make sure I know that he is still paying attention.
He loves it when I help him so he can stand up on his feet and explore new things not normally in his reach.
He loves pulling toys out of the bins in his room and deciding exactly which ones to play with.
He loves it when I read Mr. Brown Can Moo.
Oh how I wish time could stand still for just a little longer. I am so not ready for him to grow up just yet. I know one day I'm going to miss all of the great big hugs and all of the nuzzles and the snuggles and those little arms outstretched with that face and those eyes looking up at me as if I am absolutely the best and the only thing in this world that matters. I miss it already and he's only asleep in the next room...
Being a mom has filled my life with more love and joy then I could ever have imagined and at the same time the thought of Cam growing up so quickly and my baby being gone is positively heart breaking.

Fresh
This is my new favorite word. Well not really, but I use it like eight gajillion times a day at least. And not fresh like new or up to date or crisp and clean or exciting. Oh no. Fresh like "Stop being fresh and biting Mama" or "Fresh little boys get swatted on the coolie" or "Stop pulling hair, that's fresh" or "No punching, that's fresh" or "Eye poking is fresh". He is a rambunctious little whirling, biting ball of energy. Now if only he would use some of it to, I don't know, maybe crawl...

Biscuit
After much consideration and many thorough inspections, the biscuit is deemed worthy of consumption. And quite delicious...
