reading poems

Another day of glorious warm and sunny weather in crazytown. Cam and I spent the afternoon hanging outside and reading some poems from Shel Silverstein, Where the Sidewalk Ends . I absolutly adored this book as a kid. And now I have an excuse to bring it out and love it all over again!

Cam seemed to be really enjoying it today. I had already read him several poems when we got to one of my favorites - Sara Cynthia Sylvia Stout Would Not Take The Garbage Out.

He was listening so intently

And then he stopped me

"Can you read me that one again?" (So I'm thinking-Yay! He likes this one too!!!)

And then he paused...

"Ok, Ok that's enough Mom!"

"Seriously Mom, did you just read me a poem about a girl who drowned in garbage?"

Well I guess that one won't make it to his favorite list after all!
