10. He rips off his bib and defiantly tosses it to the floor. He no longer sees the need for a it. I mean why bother to have clean clothes when you can wear them with designs made from things like mashed up peas or squished pastina all over them right?
9. He drinks from a sippy cup on his own. Sort of, when he feels like it, which is a lot these days. I thought he would continue to have me hold it for him oh for like ever I guess. You know, so he could quench his thirst while he played toys or pulled my hair or anything else more fun then holding a cup for that matter.
8. He gets crazy for the duck. When he sees me pull that inflatable tub out for bath time he gets totally crazy nuts. He laughs and shrieks and smiles and waves his hands in the air the whole entire time until he gets in it. Not to mention the thrill he gets when I squeeze that duck's beak to make it quack...
7. He nibbles. On my knees. Daily. Or tries to at least. And he's totally stealth about it too. We will be on the floor playing toys and I get distracted maybe with a phone call or building a block tower or something. When all of a sudden I look down and he is leaned over and trying to bite my knee. Crazy. When I catch him he licks instead, acting all innocent about it, as if his intentions were not of the toothy variety.
6. His already boyish sense of humor. Just this week he started laughing when he toots. Yeah they are funny for him but for the rest of us, not so much...
5. He grunts. He uses grunts like noisy little exclamation points to add emphasis to his vocal outbursts. Be it ecstatic peals of laughter or screams of protest or hysterical giggles, he adds a few grunts in here for good measure.
4. He holds on. Like a little monkey when I carry him. Arms and legs twisted and tucked in as tightly as he can get them. Hanging off of mommy is the place to be.
3. He gives a mean stink eye. This typically occurs when we are waiting in checkout lines. He lures people in with that "i am an oh so adorable baby look at me" thing. This prompts some combo of a smile, a wave and or a compliment from the friendly person in line behind us. Occasionally he smiles back, if the approach was up to his standards, but most of the time he gives an icy cold stare. Which of course takes them all by surprise while simultaneously cracking me up.
2. He sticks his tongue out. When he's really happy and smiling. It's priceless, really.
1. He tries to kiss me. And I understand when he wants to do it! It's just this look he gets in his eyes and then he leans in with his mouth open. Sort of like a mini shark attack type thing. Then he tries to plant one on me. He doesn't have it quite down yet, but he's working on it. And I let him give me wet, slobbery kisses whenever he wants. They are the best.
I love my little man more than monkeys love bananas and we all know that's an awful lot.
